Great success! The exhibition Photo: Christer Landergren has been extended. On view until August 27 2023.

Meet the stars of jazz, blues, soul and rock’n’roll! Experience the Swedish music scene in ways you have never done before.

A lens facing the stage

Tina Turner, Jimi Hendrix, Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin, Duke Ellington, Miles Davis and Nina Simone. These superstars of the 60’s and 70’s all came to Stockholm in an intense era of music history. Discreet and close to invisible, Swedish photographer Christer Landergren (1941–2006) was there to capture the magic. Always in the front row, present in the very moment.

More than a photo exhibition

The exhibition combines photos from Landergren’s long career with the music he depicted. Come listen to classic Ellington, experimental avant-garde jazz and original recordings from some of the photo shoots.

Discover Gyllene Cirkeln, the legendary jazz club that put Stockholm on the world map in the late 60’s. Move on to Fasching to meet Swedish stars like Monica Zetterlund, Lars Gullin, Sonya Hedenbratt, Bernt Rosengren, Nannie Porres och Esbjörn Svensson.

In collaboration with Svenskt visarkiv, to where Christer Landergren, in 2006, donated his entire archive of some 150 000 photo negatives and thousands of original prints.
