 Graphics, drawings and paintings

The graphics collection contains printed material of varied techniques from the 1600’s and onwards. It includes costumes, set-designs, portraits and pictures of theatre buildings from all over Europe. The collection of drawings contains mostly caricatures and role portraits, mostly from the late 1800’s to the mid 1900’s. Many of the paintings are portraits and role portraits of stage personalities from the past and present. Among them is C. Breda’s portrait of the French actor Jacques Marie Boutet from the 1700’s, as well as portraits of Gösta Ekman (senior), Inga Tidblad & Margaretha Krook. The latest acquisition is an oil sketch of Lena Nyman by Stig “Slas” Larsson. Besides the paintings the collection also contains a number of busts and masks in plaster and bronze.
